Salem Health Hospitals and Clinics is seeking a Medical Assistant for the Orthopedics Clinic in Salem, OR. The role involves clinical assessments, coordinating provider-directed care, and ensuring timely documentation to support high-quality patient experience.

You will conduct patient intake, assist during exams, and help with imaging referrals, injections, and post-operative instructions, all while maintaining accurate Epic Ambulatory records and clinic operations.

Formación

• Must possess a valid, current Medical Assistant certification or registration from a nationally recognized credentialing agency.
• CMA (AAMA), RMA (AMT), CCMA (NHA), NCMA (NCCT) or equivalent credential.

Responsabilidades

• Take patient histories, record vital signs, and assess musculoskeletal concerns.
• Alert clinicians to changes in patient status or urgent orthopedic issues.
• Assists providers during exams and procedures; coordinate imaging and labs as needed.
• Document orders, injections, casting/splinting, and referrals accurately.
• Perform waived testing and operate orthopedic equipment safely.
• Administer medications within scope and orthopedic protocols.
• Document visits, refill requests, and communications in Epic Ambulatory.
• Assign charges for services rendered.
• Provide clear post-op discharge instructions and follow-up referrals.
• Collaborate with team to maintain patient flow and safety.
