Job summary

UPMC is hiring a Medical Assistant to support the UPMC UPP Department of Orthopaedics at multiple locations in the Pittsburgh area. This full-time position follows daylight hours with varied start times and travel to Lemieux Sports Complex, Wexford Spine Center, and Pine Office-Wexford to support patient care across locations.

The incumbent will provide clinical and administrative support, including patient rooming, vital signs, exam room preparation, and coordination of follow-up appointments,

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• Must have basic computer skills and knowledge of medical terminology.

Responsibilities

• Check schedules and organize patient flow; accompany patients to exam rooms and assist as needed.
• Perform phlebotomy, EKGs, and level one labs; assist physicians with procedures and document information.
• Prepare patient rooms, maintain infection control, and restock supplies in exam/procedure areas.
• Verify insurance coverage and patient demographics; schedule appointments and manage charts.
