Job summary

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED equivalent.
• Basic Electronic Medical Record (EMR) and Microsoft Office knowledge.
• BLS certification must be obtained within 14 days of hire or transfer into the role and prior to providing direct patient care.

Responsibilities

• Enters, maintains, and reports medical history, medical coding, and files claims using EMR.
• Greet patients, escort to exam rooms, and take vital signs and other applicable medical information.
• Sterilizes and prepares medical instruments; keeps exam rooms clean and ready for patients.
• Maintains inventory and stocks supplies for all exam rooms.
• Addresses referrals and insurance authorizations and coordinates with pharmacies, hospitals, and labs.
