Job summary

Physicians’ Clinic of Iowa is seeking a full-time Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) to join the Department of Orthopedics in Cedar Rapids. The role involves preparing patients for examinations, assisting with procedures, injections, dressings, and wound care, and maintaining vital records.

Qualifications include a current LPN license and CPR certification or ability to obtain within 90 days. Experience with EMR and a strong teamwork mindset are important, with a focus on patient care and

Qualifications

Current LPN license required.
Experience with casting is beneficial.
CPR certification required or ability to obtain within 90 days of hire.
Proficiency in EMR and related computer systems.
Strong commitment to patient care and teamwork.
Excellent communication skills, professionalism, reliability, and maintaining confidentiality.
Thorough understanding of safety regulations and best practices.

Responsibilities

Prepare patients for examinations and assist providers during medical procedures.
Prepare injections and medications, dress wounds and surgical incisions, and assist with casting.
Maintaining records of vitals and other patient health data.
Handle patient communication, including returning calls, calling in prescriptions, and ensuring lab work is completed before appointments.
Triage incoming patient calls and relay critical information to the appropriate provider.
