RWJBarnabas Health is seeking a Certified Medical Assistant for Orthopedics in River Edge, NJ. The role supports providers, maintains patient flow, and ensures a welcoming patient experience.

A typical day includes taking vital signs, assisting during exams, administering injections, documenting in EMR (Epic), scheduling, referrals, and patient education.

Requires CMA credential, BLS, and at least 6 months CMA experience; Monday–Friday, 8:00am–4:30pm, on-site at Barnabas Health Medical Group.

Qualifications

Must hold a current Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) credential (AAMA, AECA, AMCA, AMT, NAHP, NCCT, NCMA, or NHA).
BLS certification from American Heart Association is required.

Responsibilities

Prepare patients for examinations by taking vital signs and documenting histories.
Assist physicians during examinations and procedures.
Administer injections, collect specimens, perform point-of-care testing within scope.
Document patient information in the EMR (Epic) accurately.
Coordinate patient flow and room preparation to maintain efficient schedules.
Provide patient education on medications, treatment plans, and follow-up care.
Schedule appointments and process referrals with the care team.
Support a collaborative, patient-centered care environment.
