Job summary

RWJBarnabas Health is seeking a Certified Medical Assistant to join the Barnabas Health Medical Group. You will support providers, assist during examinations, document in the EMR, and help maintain efficient patient flow across the Altus Health department.

Work days are typically Monday through Friday, 8:00 am to 4:30 pm, with potential weekend shifts as needed. A CMA credential and BLS certification are required, with at least 6 months CMA experience.

Qualifications

• Minimum 6 months CMA experience required.
• Current CMA credential and BLS certification required.
• EPIC EMR experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Prepare patients for examinations by obtaining vital signs and histories.
• Assist physicians during examinations and procedures.
• Perform clinical tasks such as injections, specimen collection, and point-of-care testing.
• Document patient information in the EMR to support continuity of care.
• Coordinate patient flow by preparing exam rooms and maintaining supplies.
• Educate patients regarding medications and follow-up care.
• Schedule appointments and process referrals to support seamless experiences.
• Collaborate with care team to maintain a patient-centered environment.
• Pursue ongoing professional development through training and resources.
