About the Position

Rush Copley Medical Center in Aurora, Illinois is hiring an Orthopedic Advanced Practice Provider (APP) to provide comprehensive acute and routine care for musculoskeletal conditions.

Practice Opportunity Specifics

• 10 APPs and 10 physicians in the practice
• Rotating call 1:8‑10 days, including weekends/holidays
• Coverage at Copley Surgery Center and two Copley Clinics (Aurora and Yorkville)
• Operating Room / Inpatient / Outpatient responsibilities

Key Responsibilities and Skills

• Build strong relationships with the community and medical staff through exceptional interpersonal and communication skills.
• Collaborate with orthopedic physicians and support staff to deliver high‑quality patient care.
• Provide comprehensive acute and/or routine medical/surgical care within scope of Rush University Medical Center bylaws.

Preferred Qualifications

• Previous Advanced Practice Provider experience in Orthopedic Surgery.
• Relevant RN experience considered.
• Master’s degree.
• Basic Life Support Program (BLS) – American Heart Association.
• Physician Assistant Certified (PA‑C) – required; or RN, NP, or nationally recognized certification – required.
• APRN candidates must have Acute Care Certification and First Assistant Certification.

Position Requirements – Nurse Practitioner

• Current licensure from the State of Illinois as a Registered Professional Nurse and Advanced Practice Nurse.
• Master of Science in Nursing or Doctorate in Nursing Practice with clinical specialty appropriate to position.
• Current certification by ANCC or AANP.
• Maintains State of Illinois and Federal DEA license.
• Acute Care Certification and First Assistant Certification (APRN only).
• Must maintain Rush University Medical Center, Rush Oak Park Hospital, and Rush Copley Medical Center clinical privileges, as applicable.
• CPR, ACLS, and PALS certifications.
• Excellent communicator.
• Experience treating patients of all ages.
• Procedural experience (simple laceration repair, I&D).

Position Requirements – Physician Assistant

• Current licensure from the State of Illinois as a Physician Assistant/Associate.
• Successful completion of an accredited Physician Assistant/Associate Program.
• Current certification from NCA-PA.
• Must maintain Rush University Medical Center, Rush Oak Park Hospital, and Rush Copley Medical Center clinical privileges, as applicable.
• Excellent communicator.
• Experience treating patients of all ages.
• Procedural experience (simple laceration repair, I&D).

Compensation and Benefits

• Pay range: $106,870 – $168,293 for a full‑time, 1.0 FTE employee.
• Competitive total compensation includes base pay, benefits, and incentive programs (including premium pay rates, sign‑on bonuses, and relocation allowances).
