Job summary

Twin Cities Orthopedics is seeking a Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner to join our Orthopedic Urgent Care Clinic in Waconia, MN. This is a part-time (.9 FTE), benefit-eligible position working out of the Urgent Care clinic.

You will treat patients with non-operative orthopedic conditions, apply casts and dressings, prescribe medications, and coordinate care with the on-call physician. Requires accredited PA/NP program, NCCPA, MN license, DEA registration, and 2 years of orthopedic

Qualifications

• Completed accredited Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner program.
• NCCPA certification present.
• Minnesota Board of Medical Practice license/registration.
• DEA registration.
• At least 2 years of orthopedic experience.
• Urgent care experience preferred.
• Full-time OUC provider or covered a float shift in the past year.

Responsibilities

• Practice independently in the clinic by treating patients with non-operative orthopedic conditions (e.g., room and prep patients; order x-rays; MRIs; physical therapy; compile patient medical data).
• Consult with patients for cast application/adjustment, dressing changes or brace application.
• Perform therapeutic procedures such as splinting, casting, suturing and wound care.
• Apply, remove, modify and adjust casts and dressings; remove sutures.
• Implement patient management plans, record progress, and assist in provision of care.
• Prescribe medications.
• Exercise good judgement when referral to on-call physician is needed.
• Flexibility to work at various clinic sites.
• Occasionally participate in community outreach events.

Accredited Physician Assistant program

NCCPA certification

Minnesota Board of Medical Practice license

DEA registration

2 years orthopedic experience
