Job summary

NorthBay Health seeks a Board-Certified Orthopedic Trauma Surgeon to join our surgical team at our Northern California campuses, anchored by a Level II Trauma Center. You will provide full-spectrum trauma care with operative and non-operative fracture management.

This 1.0 FTE position offers an income guarantee, sign-on bonus, relocation assistance, and a comprehensive benefits package within a supportive, mission-driven health system.

Qualifications

• MD/DO degree required and licensed to practice in California.
• Board certified or eligible in Orthopedic Surgery (ABOS or AOBOS).
• Fellowship training in Orthopedic Trauma Surgery.

Responsibilities

• Provide full-spectrum orthopedic trauma care, including operative and non-operative fracture management.
• Participate in trauma call coverage and collaborate with ED and hospitalist teams.
• Manage inpatient orthopedic trauma cases and outpatient follow-up care.
• Work with a multidisciplinary trauma team to support optimal patient outcomes.
• Engage in service line development, quality initiatives, and peer review.

Northbay Health is seeking a Board-Certified Orthopedic Trauma Surgeon to join our dynamic and growing surgical team in Northern California. As part of Northbay Health’s Orthopedic and Trauma Services - anchored by Northbay Medical Center’s Level II Trauma Center - the Orthopedic Trauma Surgeon plays a key role in providing advanced, comprehensive care for patients with acute musculoskeletal injuries and complex fractures.

Position Highlights

• Provide full-spectrum orthopedic trauma care, including operative and non-operative fracture management.


• Participate in trauma call coverage and collaborate with emergency medicine and hospitalist teams to provide timely consultations and interventions.


• Manage inpatient orthopedic trauma cases and perform outpatient follow-up care.


• Work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary trauma team to support optimal patient outcomes.


• Participate in service line development, quality initiatives, and peer review activities.

Qualifications

• (MD) or (DO) degree.


• Completion of an ACGME-accredited Orthopedic Surgery Residency.


• Fellowship training in Orthopedic Trauma Surgery.


• Board Certified or Board Eligible in Orthopedic Surgery (ABOS or AOBOS).


• Valid California medical license


• California DEA Certificate


• Minimum of 2-3 years of recent orthopedic trauma experience, or completion of a fellowship with advanced exposure to complex fracture care.


• Comfortable practicing independently with strong clinical judgment


• Interest in shaping a practice that balances medication management, procedures, and education


• Strong communication skills with patients and referring providers

Compensation And Benefits

• Full-time, 1.0 FTE position.


• Income guarantee: $664,000 (first two years for qualified W-2 based on 1.0 FTE).


• Sign-on bonus: Up to $50,000 for qualified applicants.


• Relocation assistance: Up to $20,000 for qualified applicants.


• Quality Incentive eligible beginning year 3 $40,000


• Retention Bonus eligible beginning end of year 2 $30,000


• Comprehensive benefits package including medical, dental, vision, retirement, and CME support.


• Rates pro-rated based on FTE

Compensation Structure

NorthBay Health uses a structured compensation framework. Staff-level positions use a step-based system (Steps 1-5) based on years of directly related experience, with Step 5 representing 20 or more years of experience in the role. Manager level and above positions are paid a fixed annual base salary and are eligible for a variable incentive compensation plan. Physician compensation is structured based on specialty and role requirements.

NorthBay Health is primarily an onsite organization due to the nature of healthcare. Some roles may allow hybrid or remote work based on business needs.
