Mercy is seeking an Orthopedic Technician to assist physicians in delivering orthopedic care to patients. Under physician supervision, you will support the team with casts, splints and surgical technology, ensuring high-quality patient interactions.

Qualifications

Position Details

• Education: High School Diploma or equivalent GED.
• Experience: Minimum 2 years as orthopedic technician, unless certified as an OTC by the National Board of Certification of Orthopedic Technologists. Previous physician office experience.
• Other: Eligible for staff privileges at hospitals where physician/surgeons work. Knowledge of physiology, anatomy and medical terminology. Competency in applying casts and splints and surgical technology.

Preferred Qualifications

• Education: Post-secondary certificate or associate's degree as orthopedic technician from a technology program
• Experience: 3+ years of Orthopedic experience including casting, bracing, splinting, suture removal, pin removal, dressing changes and wound care
• Certifications: Certified as an OTC by the National Board of Certification
