Overview
The Orthopaedic Technologist is a specifically trained allied health professional to assist the orthopaedic surgeon in the practice of medicine. He performs his duties under the direction of the orthopaedic surgeon.

- Qualifications
- Education: High School Diploma or GED.
- Licensure: No special license are required.
- Experience: No experience is necessary.
- Certifications: None Required.
- Other:
- Eligible for staff privileges at hospitals in which orthopaedic surgeons work.
- Knowledge of physiology, anatomy and medical terminology.
- Competency in applying casts and splints and surgical technology.

- Certifications: Recommend certification by the National Association of Orthopaedic Technologists.

- Must be capable and willing to keep patients films and medical records confidential.
- Responsible for practicing economy in the use of supplies.

- Must possess the ability to meet and communicate with patients, physicians and visitors courteously.
