Job summary

Providence Health & Services is seeking an Orthopedic Technician to assist the orthopedic physician with casts and limb stability, wound care, patient education, and general nursing care within the limits of their certification and licensure.

This Per‑Diem, Day shift position is located at St Joseph Health Medical Group – Orthopedics, Eureka, with a pay range of $26.30–$40.25 per hour and comprehensive benefits.

Qualifications

• Completion of an accredited orthopedic technical training program.
• National Provider BLS – American Heart Association within 30 days of hire.
• At least one year of full‑time work experience in a hospital, clinic, or office setting, working directly in the treatment of orthopedic patients.

Under the general supervision of the Back Office Lead/Medical Office Manager, the Orthopedic Technician will assist the orthopedic physician in providing casts and/or limb stability, wound care, general patient education, and general nursing care to the maximum extent allowed by their certification and/or licensure.

Responsibilities

Assist the orthopedic physician in patient care tasks such as casts and limb stability, wound care, patient education, and general nursing care as authorized by certification and licensure.

Required Qualifications

• Completion of an accredited orthopedic technical training program.
• National Provider BLS – American Heart Association within 30 days of hire.
• At least one (1) year of full‑time work experience in a hospital, clinic, or office setting, working directly in the treatment of orthopedic patients.

Preferred Qualifications

• Upon hire: NBCOT certification.
