Job description

Hourly Pay Range: $22.14 - $33.21. The hourly pay rate offered is determined by a candidate's expertise and years of experience, among other factors.

Position Highlights
  • Position: Orthopedic Technician – Orthopedics – Days
  • Location: Lombard, IL
  • Full Time: 40 hours / week
  • Office Hours: Monday - Friday 7:00 AM - 6:00 PM. Schedule will vary.
  • Travel Required: As needed to Elmhurst and other Orthopedic Offices
What you will do:
  • Greet patients and place them in exam room.
  • Perform vital signs.
  • Perform dressing changes.
  • Fit required durable medical equipment (DME).
  • Cast removal, cast and splint application.
  • Assistance with casting procedures under fluoroscopy.
  • Speak with patients over the phone and assist with problems.
  • Educate patients on care.
  • Support physician and office activity.
  • When downtime occurs, perform responsibilities of a Medical Assistant such as rooming patients, etc.
What you will need:
  • Education: High School Diploma or equivalent; graduate of an accredited medical assistant program preferred.
  • Certification: Current CPR certification required.
  • Experience casting.
  • Passing the Registered Orthopedic Technologist certification test within 12 months of hire date.
  • Ideal candidate is a Medical Assistant with experience casting / doing responsibilities of an Ortho Tech.
  • One year of experience in a physician practice setting preferred.
  • Evidence of leadership, problem‑solving abilities, effective communication skills, basic computer skills, and clinical competence.
