Job summary

Atrius Health in Dedham, MA is hiring an Orthopedic Technician to apply, adjust and remove casts and splints, fit canes and walkers, and educate patients on usage. You will triage care, coordinate appointments, pull films, and assist in pre/post-operative care within a collaborative care model.

The role supports a multi-location health system and offers a comprehensive benefits package. Prior orthopedic experience and NBCOT certification are preferred.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of related Orthopedic experience.
• Familiar with standard concepts, practices and terminology in orthopedic care.
• Strong computer skills including Microsoft Office and health information retrieval.

Responsibilities

• Triages for appointment priority and urgency; screens calls.
• Manages orthopedic schedules and orders relevant outside films.
• Assists patients with follow-up appointments and other specialists.
• Provides pre/post-operative patient instruction and paperwork.
• Assists during minor orthopedic procedures and casts management.
• Educates patients on slings, braces, crutches, and PT exercises.
• Applies, removes and adjusts casts and splints.
• Orders orthopedic equipment and maintains supply records.
