Tampa General Hospital in Tampa, FL is seeking an Orthopedic Technician to provide orthopedic support services for inpatients and outpatients. You will apply and remove casts, splints, braces, traction, overhead suspensions, and CPM devices, following physician orders and protocols.

You will collaborate with physicians and nursing staff, ensure safety and infection-control standards, document services and charges in EPIC, and participate in performance improvement initiatives while educating

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Anatomy knowledge and six months in patient-related health care settings preferred.
• Familiarity with orthopedic devices (casts, splints, braces, traction, CPM machines) preferred.

Responsabilités

• Applies and removes casts, splints, braces, traction devices, overhead suspensions, and CPM machines per physician orders.
• Applies orthopedic devices based on patient anatomy to ensure safety and effectiveness.
• Responds to ER/OR referrals within stated timeframes.
• Maintains infection-control practices and OSHA standards.
• Documents services accurately and processes patient charges in EMR before shift end.
• Participates in performance improvement and data collection initiatives.
• Educates patients and families on cast/splint care and supports staff education.
