Job summary

Lakeland Regional Health in Central Florida is seeking an Orthopedic Technician to provide casting, splinting, and hardware maintenance in support of orthopedic surgeons and patient care. You will contribute to safe, high-quality care and assist with various duties across the casting area.

The ideal candidate has 1–2 years of orthopedic-related experience, a high school diploma, and Basic Cardiac Life Support certification.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) certification.
• Orthopedic Technician Certified (OTC) certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Fosters an inclusive and engaged environment through teamwork and collaboration.
• Communicates with patients, families, and team members to ensure positive experiences.
• Applies, adjusts and removes plaster casts, splints, braces as directed by a physician.
• Coordinates and arranges for durable medical equipment (DME) orders, referring patients to third-party vendors when needed.
• Supports orthopedic surgeons in clinical, surgical, and patient care responsibilities.
