Job summary

Southeast Orthopedic Specialists is seeking an Orthopedic Technician for our Jacksonville, FL Beaches clinic. You will provide hands‑on patient care, apply casts and splints, dispense DME, and support physicians to keep the clinic running smoothly.

Requires a high school diploma or GED, with preferred completion of Sports Medicine or Orthopedic Technician programs and at least one year in a medical setting.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Experience in a medical facility preferred (1 year).
• Completion of Sports Medicine, Orthopedic Technician, or Medical Assistant program preferred.

Responsibilities

• Apply and adjust casts, splints, and traction equipment as ordered.
• Educate patients on care of casts, splints, and DME.
• Maintain logs and inventory records for supplies.
• Place supply orders and manage par levels.
• Collaborate with Authorization Team on patient financial responsibility.

General Summary

Join our team at Southeast Orthopedic Specialists’ Fleming Island in Jacksonville, FL! As an Orthopedic Technician, you’ll provide hands-on patient care by applying casts and splints, dispensing DME, and supporting physicians - all while keeping the clinic organized and running smoothly.

Essential Functions

• Apply and adjust fiberglass casts, splints, and orthopedic traction equipment per physician orders.
• Educate patients on proper care of casts, splints, and DME items.
• Maintain knowledge of clinic DME products and indications for use.
• Keep accurate logs and spreadsheets as required by the department.
• Place supply orders according to calculated par levels and clinic needs.
• Collaborate with the Authorization Team to determine patient financial responsibility and communicate with patients.
• Organize and stock received inventory efficiently.
• Monitor inventory levels daily to ensure clinic readiness.
• Report new usage trends to the Practice Manager.
• Assist in other areas of the clinic as needed.

Requirements

• Education: High school diploma/GED required; completion of Sports Medicine, Orthopedic Technician, or Medical Assistant program preferred.
• Experience: Minimum one year of relevant experience in a medical facility preferred.
• Skills & Abilities: Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, ability to educate patients effectively, and proficiency in inventory management.
• Professionalism: Ability to collaborate with clinic staff, communicate clearly with patients, and maintain a clean, organized work environment.
