Job summary

Southeast Orthopedic Specialists’ Fleming Island location in Jacksonville, FL is hiring an Orthopedic Technician to provide hands-on patient care by applying casts and splints, dispensing DME, and supporting physicians in a fast-paced clinic.

Responsibilities include patient education, inventory control, and coordination with the Authorization Team to determine financial responsibility, while keeping the clinic organized and efficient.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Completion of Sports Medicine, Orthopedic Technician, or Medical Assistant program preferred.
• Minimum one year of relevant experience in a medical facility.

Responsibilities

• Apply and adjust fiberglass casts, splints, and orthopedic traction equipment per physician orders.
• Educate patients on proper care of casts, splints, and DME items.
• Maintain knowledge of clinic DME products and indications for use.
• Keep accurate logs and spreadsheets as required by the department.
• Place supply orders according to calculated par levels and clinic needs.
• Collaborate with the Authorization Team to determine patient financial responsibility and communicate with patients.
• Organize and stock received inventory efficiently.
• Monitor inventory levels daily to ensure clinic readiness.
• Report new usage trends to the Practice Manager.
• Assist in other areas of the clinic as needed.

GENERAL SUMMARY

Requirements
