Orthopedic Physicians Alaska seeks a highly skilled Physician Assistant (Ortho/Surgical) to join our growing team in Anchorage. The PA will practice under physician supervision, focusing on orthopedics and surgical assistance, with duties spanning exams, prescriptions, and patient care.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree and accredited PA program completed.
• At least 4 years healthcare experience prior to PA program.
• At least 1 year experience as a PA, preferably clinical.
• National PA-C certification.

Responsabilités

• Conduct physical exams, assess health status, order and interpret tests, prescribe medications, and treat illnesses.
• Consult with physicians as needed and refer to physicians for more complicated cases.
• Monitor therapies and ensure continuity of care.
• Triage patient calls and evaluate problems.
• Respond to emergencies including CPR.
• Counsel patients and families on preventive care.
• Document patient information in medical records.
• First assist in surgery for assigned cases.
• Participate in patient rounding and walk-in clinic rounds.
