OrthoNebraska is seeking a Surgical First Assist to expedite surgical productivity, support the education of surgical residents, and assist surgeons when residents are unavailable. The role requires orthopedic focus, strong sterile technique, and collaboration with the perioperative team.

Schedule is 40 hours per week, Mon-Fri, four 10-hour shifts (6:30a–7:00p). Must graduate from an accredited SFA program with CSFA or equivalent and BLS; 2+ years in a surgical setting preferred.

Competenze

• 2+ years of experience in a surgical setting, preferably orthopedics.
• CSFA certification or equivalent required.
• BLS certification required.

Mansioni

• Assist surgeons during operative and invasive procedures.
• Maintain sterile technique and environment throughout the surgical procedure.
• Provide patient care before, during, and after surgery, including positioning and wound closure.
• Monitor patient vital signs and respond to surgical team requests promptly.
• Educate and communicate with patients and their families about the procedure and post-operative care.
• Collaborate with the surgical team to ensure effective communication and workflow.
