Job summary

OrthoNebraska is seeking a Surgical First Assistant to support surgeons during operative procedures and to educate surgical residents. The role will provide perioperative leadership and patient care from pre-op through post-op, aligning with the surgeon's direction to ensure safe, efficient operations.

The ideal candidate has a CSFA certification or equivalent, BLS, and at least 2 years of orthopedic surgical experience, with the ability to work in a fast-paced environment and maintain sterile

Qualifications

• Graduate from an accredited Surgical First Assist program.
• CSFA certification or equivalent required; BLS certification required.
• 2+ years of experience in a surgical setting, preferably orthopedics.

Responsibilities

• Assist surgeons during operative and invasive procedures.
• Ensure all surgical instruments, equipment, and supplies are available and functioning.
• Maintain sterile technique and environment throughout the procedure.
• Provide patient care before, during, and after surgery, including positioning and wound care.
