Job summary

Memorial Hospital - Chattanooga is seeking an Orthopedic Surgery Nurse Practitioner to join a hospital-employed group in Chattanooga, TN. You will provide comprehensive inpatient care under physician supervision, performing exams, ordering tests, and developing treatment plans.

You will collaborate with physicians and the healthcare team to ensure high-quality care for hospitalized patients and coordinate care across services.

Qualifications

  • Master’s degree in nursing studies.
  • 3-5 years clinical nursing practice in an acute care setting.
  • 1-3 years previous experience as an NP in an acute or primary care setting or equivalent RN experience
  • Licensed as an RN in the state of TN/GA
  • American Heart Association BLS (BLS-CPR)

Responsibilities

  • Obtain medical histories when necessary.
  • Perform physical exams (within established protocol).
  • Diagnose, treat and monitor chronic diseases (within protocol guidelines).
  • Order diagnostic test.
  • Prescribe or recommend medications for prescription for medications and treatment (within protocol guidelines).
  • Promote positive lifestyle habits to all patients through education and counseling.

As our Orthopedic Surgery Nurse Practitioner, you will join a well-established hospital-employed group at CommonSpirit Memorial Hospital in Chattanooga, TN. To be successful in your role, you will meticulously provide direct patient care, utilizing your specialized training and skills to assess, diagnose, and manage hospitalized patients under physician supervision. You will demonstrate exceptional clinical proficiency and a compassionate approach, ensuring comprehensive care coordination and optimal patient outcomes within your scope of practice.
