Job summary

Advocate Health is seeking a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) to join the Orthopedic Surgery team at Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center in Winston-Salem, North Carolina.

The role involves preparing patients for exams, performing laboratory procedures, assisting surgeons, administering medications, and ensuring smooth operation of exam rooms. Requires LPN licensure and BLS; 40 hours per week, Monday–Friday, 8AM–5PM.

Qualifications

• Completion of an accredited Practical Nursing program.
• No experience required.
• LPN license in the practicing state and BLS certification within 45 days as required by the department.

Responsibilities

• Prepares and rooms the patient for exam by obtaining vital signs and documenting health information.
• Performs laboratory procedures using aseptic technique and infection control guidelines.
• Assists the physician with procedures and surgeries in Orthopedic Surgery.
• Administers medications under orders, including IV therapy within allowed limits.
• Provides basic patient education on treatments and self-care.
• Maintains exam rooms and equipment; coordinates supplies and referrals as needed.
