Job summary

VA St Louis Health Care System seeks a Board Certified or Board Eligible Orthopedic Surgeon to join our Surgical Service in Missouri. The role requires delivering comprehensive orthopedic care across outpatient, inpatient, and operative settings.

The candidate will lead education for residents, supervise medical students, and collaborate with primary care, rehabilitation, and ancillary services to ensure Veteran-centered care.

Qualifications

  • MD/DO degree required and licensed to practice in the United States.
  • Board certification or eligibility in Orthopedic Surgery.
  • Fellowship training in subspecialties listed (Shoulder/Elbow, Sports Medicine, etc.).
  • Experience with outpatient, inpatient, and operative orthopedic care.

Responsibilities

  • Perform comprehensive orthopedic evaluations and pre/post-operative assessments.
  • Deliver inpatient and outpatient orthopedic care within a multidisciplinary team.
  • Provide operative care across subspecialties, including robotics where applicable.
  • Coordinate with primary care, rehab, and ancillary services for veteran-centered care.
  • Supervise residents and medical students; participate in education and program requirements.
  • Collaborate with affiliates to ensure continuity and quality of care.
