The Sioux Falls VA Health Care System is seeking a part-time Orthopedic Surgeon to join the Surgery/Specialty Care Service. The role involves diagnosing and treating musculoskeletal conditions in both inpatient and outpatient settings, with opportunities to mentor residents and collaborate with a multidisciplinary team.

Applicants should hold an MD or DO with residency in a core orthopedic specialty, possess a current license to practice medicine, and be able to work within a structured VA

Qualifications

• Must hold a current unrestricted medical license in the United States or equivalent.
• Completion of residency in a VA-approved specialty.
• Proficiency in spoken and written English.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose and treat orthopedic conditions in inpatient and outpatient settings.
• Participate in after-hours call as required and respond promptly to emergencies.
• Provide patient care and develop treatment and follow-up plans.
• Educate patients and families and document clinical notes and orders in a timely manner.
• Mentor residents and supervise mid-level providers as required.
