Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required; associates degree preferred.
• 2+ years in medical referrals, prior authorizations, or insurance verification.
• Familiarity with radiology, injections, and prescription insurance requirements.
• Experience with EMR systems, payer portals, and referral/authorization workflows.

Responsibilities

• Verify insurance eligibility and benefits for imaging, medications, and referrals.
• Proactively follow up with payers to track referrals and authorizations.
• Notify patients and clinical teams of status and any delays or costs.
• Schedule injections after authorization and liaise with pharmacies and hubs.
• Maintain accurate documentation in EMR or referral systems.
• Collaborate with billing to prevent claim denials from missing authorizations.
• Assist with denials via appeals or peer-to-peer reviews; monitor payer policies.
• Support improvements to VISCO-related referral workflows and turnaround times.
• All other duties as assigned.
