• Performs high-quality radiology procedures per exam protocol in a timely manner.
• Demonstrates understanding of radiation dose reference levels and monitoring; takes action if levels are exceeded.
• Uses AIDET to communicate with patients; identifies patient service needs and educates about tests.
• Prepares patient and area; positions patient, adjusts immobilization devices, and sets exposure factors.
• Follows safety, infection-control, drug, and radiation policies; maintains hand hygiene.
• Maintains equipment and work area to meet quality and cleanliness standards; coordinates with engineers/physicists for optimal operation.
• Reports issues to management and assists in inventory management.
• Screens people entering the department per approved policies and procedures.
• Obtains, verifies, and maintains charts, history, pregnancy status, shielding precautions, and consent forms.
• Maintains imaging records per department policies and standards.
