Responsibilities / Job Summary
The Clinic Radiologic Technologist, under a Radiologist's supervision, performs radiology procedures on patients in a Physician Office or Clinic. These procedures are requested by a physician or licensed provider for diagnosing disease and injury, following established protocols.
- Performs high-quality radiology procedures according to exam protocol in a timely manner. Maintains production and quality following established standards and procedures.
- Demonstrates understanding of radiation dose reference levels and monitoring; takes action if the estimated dose or reference level is exceeded, including patient follow-up when needed.
- Uses AIDET to communicate with patients; identifies service needs, ensures correct exam, builds rapport, and instructs patients and families about the test.
- Prepares patient and area for the procedure; positions patient, adjusts immobilization devices, moves equipment; sets exposure factors.
- Follows safety, infection-control, and radiation policies; maintains sterile technique and hand hygiene.
- Maintains equipment and work area; collaborates with engineers and physicists for optimal operation.
- Reports issues toManagement; assists in maintaining supplies inventory.
- Screening for safety prior to department entry according to policies; maintains documentation such as requisitions, patient history, pregnancy status, shielding precautions, consent forms, and procedures.
- Maintains medical imaging records in the appropriate system and ensures timely interpretation according to department standards.
Qualifications
- Education: Graduate of an Accredited Program
- Experience: Less than 1 Year of Experience
- Certification/Licensure: Basic Life Support (BLS) (BLS on hire or within 30 days) and Limited Medical Radiologic Tech (LMRT) licensed by the State of Texas with specialties in Chest, Extremities, Skull, and Spine.
