Job summary

Miami Sports Medicine in Miami, FL is seeking a motivated Physical Therapist Assistant to join our orthopedic practice. The PTA will work under the supervision of a licensed Physical Therapist to help patients recover from orthopedic injuries, surgeries, and sports-related conditions.

The PTA will provide hands-on treatment and therapeutic exercises under supervision, with goals to improve strength, mobility, function, and recovery. Join a multidisciplinary team dedicated to patient care.

Qualifications

Active Florida LPTA license in good standing.
Graduate of an accredited PTA program.
CPR/BLS certification or ability to obtain.
Experience in orthopedic or sports medicine preferred.
Strong communication and teamwork skills.
Knowledge of orthopedic rehab and post-op protocols.

Responsibilities

Provide physical therapy treatments and therapeutic exercises per plan of care.
Work with patients recovering from orthopedic surgeries and injuries.
Treat conditions involving shoulder, knee, ankle, and other musculoskeletal injuries.
Assist patients with strengthening, stretching, ROM, balance, coordination, and functional activities.
Provide therapeutic activities and modalities as directed by the PT.
Monitor patient progress and report concerns to the PT.
Educate patients on exercises, body mechanics, and home programs.
Maintain accurate documentation of treatments and patient responses.
Assist with patient flow and keep the treatment area organized and clean.
Follow clinical, safety, infection-control, and documentation requirements.
Communicate professionally with physicians, therapists, patients, and staff.
Maintain patient confidentiality and HIPAA compliance.
Perform other duties related to patient care as assigned.
