Job summary

Savista is seeking a Medical Coder to help our healthcare clients navigate coding and revenue cycle challenges. You will assign ICD-10 and CPT/HCPCS codes for various patient types, review records for accuracy, and abstract data to support diagnoses and procedures while maintaining strict confidentiality.

The role requires AHIMA or AAPC credentials and at least two years of hands-on coding experience, with strong knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, physiology, pharmacology, and coding

Qualifications

• Active AHIMA or AAPC credential required or in process
• Two years of recent and relevant hands-on coding experience
• Knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy & physiology, pharmacology and coding guidelines

Responsibilities

• Select and sequence ICD-10, CPT/HCPCS codes for various patient types.
• Review facility records to ensure APC assignments and E/M codes reflect documentation.
• Abstract clinical data to support diagnoses, procedures and disposition.
• Act as a resource for client staff on data integrity and compliant coding practices.
• Maintain patient/provider confidentiality per HIPAA guidelines.
• Participate in client and Savista meetings, trainings and conference calls.
• Stay current with ICD-10 and CPT/HCPCS guidelines and third-party requirements.
• Pursue continuing education to maintain credentials.
