Job summary

UNC Health Johnston is seeking an experienced Clinical Nurse on the 4th Floor Surgical/Orthopedics/Joint Center to provide high-quality postoperative care. You will coordinate nursing care using the nursing process in a hospital setting and report to the Nurse Manager/Director.

The unit focuses on total joint and orthopedic cases in a fast-paced environment, promoting teamwork, learning, and professional growth for nurses at all levels.

Qualifications

• Graduation from a school of professional nursing.
• Licensed to practice as a Registered Nurse in North Carolina.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
• One year of nursing experience.

Responsibilities

• Education - Identify learning needs and educate patient/family/caregivers using appropriate materials.
• Evaluation of Care - Identify expected outcomes and participate in team evaluations.
• Implementation - Provide competent care for patients with complex problems, perform bedside testing, follow policies and procedures.
• Leadership - Support unit goals, promote collaboration, communicate effectively, and contribute to cost-effective care.
• Patient Assessment - Prioritize care needs based on complex data and anticipate discharge needs.
• Planning - Collaborate with patient/family to update the care plan using multidisciplinary resources.
• Research - Engage with journals and discuss applicable studies with the team.
