Qualifications

• Graduated from an accredited PA program and licensed to practice in NY (NYS PA License).
• NCCPA board certification and BLS/ACLS certification are required.
• Infection Control Certification and child abuse recognition training are required.

Responsibilities

• Provide clinical consultation, assessment, and management to patients.
• Conduct outpatient evaluation, treatment and follow-up of surgical patients as directed by the supervising physician.
• Provide pre- and post-operative and discharge education to patients and families.
• Review/interpret patient imaging and labs; communicate results and follow-up plans.
• Educate patients/families about medical conditions and hospital course.
• Document progress toward outcomes and maintain medical records.
• Utilize the computerized order entry system for orders, tests, and documentation.
• Assist surgeon in the operating room as first assist.
• Promote teamwork and assist with other duties as needed for safe patient care.
