Job summary

Orthopaedic & Neurosurgery Specialists (ONS) seeks a full-time Physician Assistant to support a busy total joint replacement surgeon in Greenwich, CT, including on-call coverage and post-op care. The role involves pre-op assessments, in-office procedures, imaging orders, and coordination of discharge planning.

The position offers five weeks of PTO, continuing education allowance, and a robust benefits package. Prior orthopedic experience is preferred; new graduates are welcome to apply.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree from an accredited Physician Assistant program.
• NCCPA Certification is required.
• Connecticut license.
• DEA and Connecticut Controlled Substance licenses.
• BLS and ACLS Certification.
• Minimum one-year orthopedic or surgical experience preferred; new grads encouraged to apply.
• Ability to work well under pressure and multi-task.
• Strong interpersonal and customer service skills.

Responsibilities

• Performs and documents history and physicals of pre-operative patients.
• Assists with post-operative checks, wound evaluations, and dressing changes.
• Performs in-office procedures such as cast placements and wound care.
• Collects samples for testing and administers medications as indicated.
• Renews medications for patients in office or remotely.
• Orders X-rays, labs, and physical therapy renewals as needed.
• Participates in Urgent Care coverage and on-call duties.
• First assists in surgeries with attending physicians.
