Cayuga Health is seeking a part-time Orthopedic Physical Therapy Resident to join our Cayuga Wellness Center team in Ithaca, NY. The role focuses on conducting exams, developing plans of care, and delivering therapy under supervision.

Required is a Doctorate of Physical Therapy and a NYS license or eligibility; CPR certification is also required. The position involves on-site work with some local travel and supervision of PT staff and students.

Qualifications

• Education: Doctorate of Physical Therapy required.
• Licensure: NYS Physical Therapy license or eligibility.
• Experience: New graduates welcomed; RF-PTCAS application process.
• CPR Certification required.

Responsibilities

• Demonstrates competency and professionalism in conducting a clinical examination, establishing a physical therapy diagnosis and developing a plan of care to address person-centered goals.
• Implements therapeutic interventions including therapeutic exercise, manual therapy, patient education and modalities.
• Documents all clinical encounters clearly and accurately.
• Provides supervision of Physical Therapist Assistants, PT students and departmental volunteers.
• Attends educational opportunities and passes required examinations with ≥80%.
• Provides effective teaching in laboratory and clinical settings.
