Job summary

The University of Iowa is seeking a Physician Associate to join the Orthopedics and Rehabilitation Department's North Liberty Outpatient team. The APP will support the Adult Hip and Knee Arthroplasty service in an outpatient setting with no weekend or on-call requirements.

Responsibilities include comprehensive patient evaluations, orders, treatment plans, prescribing, documentation, and collaboration with residents, nurses, and faculty surgeons to improve patient outcomes and streamline care.

Qualifications

• Must meet Iowa Board of Physician Assistant Examiners requirements.
• Graduation from an accredited PA program and/or NCCPA certification.
• 3–5 years of patient care experience.
• Experience in orthopedic patient care preferred.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Outpatient clinical management: evaluations, orders, plans, prescriptions.
• Collaborative care with orthopedic team and residents.
• Documentation, chart reviews, and quality initiatives.
• Student and resident education and professional development.
• Team operations, compliance, and process improvement.
