Job summary

Rothman Orthopaedic Specialty Hospital in Bensalem, PA seeks an experienced Surgical Technologist for our operating rooms. You will prepare sterile instruments, assist surgeons, and maintain sterile technique throughout procedures.

Requirements include a high school diploma, 2 years OR experience as a surg tech, and BLS certification. Orthopaedic experience is a plus. Day shift with rotation hours; benefits package and no weekend shifts, no holidays, no on-call duties are offered.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• 2 years Operating Room Experience as a Surg Tech is a must.
• Orthopaedic Experience is a PLUS
• BLS

Responsibilities

• Checks room for cleanliness, availability of supplies and equipment at the beginning of the day.
• Open sterile packs and supplies, using surgeon's preference card for specific requests. Use supplies conservatively and efficiently.
• Sets up back table and mayo using surgeon's preference card as a reference for instruments, medications, etc.
• Maintains proper sterile technique when gowning and gloving the Surgeon.
• Assists with draping of patient and confirms the operative area.
• Attaches light handles and hands-off to circulating nurse the appropriate equipment to begin the procedure. (Example: bovie, suction, light source, camera).
• Prepares soiled instruments for cleaning. Decontaminates and reprocesses in steam autoclave.
