Job summary

Sanford Health is seeking a compassionate RN to join the orthopedics team as a surgical assist and perioperative care provider. You will support surgeons during procedures, manage preoperative plans, and ensure patient safety throughout the perioperative process.

The role requires ACLS and CNOR/ONC certification within one year, RN licensure, and experience in a surgical setting. Day shifts, 40 hours weekly, with rotation included.

Qualifications

• Graduate from a nationally accredited nursing program; bachelor's degree preferred.
• RN experience preferred; surgical assisting training or on-the-job training.

Responsibilities

• Assist under the surgeon's direction with intra-operative homeostasis, exposure, and closure.
• Administer medications and maintain sterile field; support surgical team.
• Develop preoperative plans in coordination with surgeons and health team members.
• Assist in draping patient and maintaining sterile field during procedures.
• Perform skin closure under direction once competency is validated by the surgeon.
