Responsibilities

• Assist orthopedic surgeons intraoperatively, as credentialed.
• Order and interpret diagnostic imaging and laboratory tests.

Schedule & Work‑Life Balance

Full‑time (1.0 FTE): Monday through Friday with no call responsibilities Clinic hours: 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM Generous Time Off: 33 days (264 hours) annually, including holidays, and 10 days of CME.

Practice Details

Clinic facilities: 6 exam spaces. One medical assistant per provider, Orthopedic nurse case manager, and clinical assistants. Ancillary services include Mammogram, CT, DEXA, Ultrasound including ECHO, X‑ray, laboratory services, and MRI. Patient Volume: 12-14 patients per day in clinic, including telemedicine, and four hours of administrative time weekly. EMR and tools include Meditech, Dragon Dictation, and DAX AI assisted documentation.

Maintains active, unrestricted DEA registration. Maintains active SEARHC medical staff privileges. BLS required within 45 days of hire and maintained thereafter.

• Consults SEARHC physician as needed for patient care and uses other access to specialists as needed (i.e., AristaMD, ANMC providers, etc.).
• Provides medical services at facilities within the SEARHC care network and other facilities and locations listed in SEARHC's compact and funding agreement with the Indian Health Service.
• Actively participates in SEARHC quality patient care initiatives and quality assurance programs.
• Actively participates in provider meetings, clinic meetings, and SEARHC medical staff functions.
• Depending upon the location and needs of the community served, participates in shared after‑hours emergency call coverage.

Education, Certifications, and Licenses Required

State of Alaska Medical License as an NP or PA Board‑certified or eligible. Maintains active, unrestricted DEA registration. Maintains active SEARHC medical staff privileges. BLS required within 45 days of hire and maintained thereafter.

Experience Required

Two years of experience as a practicing provider. Additional clinical experience or training prior to practice as a licensed provider may be considered by the Medical Director of Primary Care Clinics to meet this minimum experience requirement.
