SouthEast Alaska Regional Health Consortium (SEARHC) seeks an intermittent Endodontist to deliver high-quality, patient-centered care in Juneau and Sitka. You will support a modern, well-equipped clinic with 3D imaging, Dentrix, and Dexis, under a mission-driven health system serving Southeast Alaska.

The role emphasizes clinical excellence, multidisciplinary collaboration, and advancing endodontic services across our Native‑run organization. Alaska licensure and BLS are required.

Qualifications

  • DDS or DMD degree from CODA-accredited dental school.
  • Graduate of a CODA-accredited endodontics program.
  • Alaska dental license or eligibility; Alaska license preferred.
  • BLS certification is required.

Responsibilities

  • Provide endodontic assessments and direct endodontic care to SEARHC patients.
  • Develop and promote endodontic programs and protocols for best outcomes.
  • Advise Dental Division Managers on endodontic matters.
  • Submit reports and chart documentation in a timely manner.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned by the Dental Director.

We are seeking an intermittent Endodontist to deliver high‑quality, patient‑centered care in a collaborative, well‑supported clinical environment. This role includes the opportunity to provide care both in Juneau and Sitka.

The new three‑story dental clinic is scheduled to begin serving the Juneau community in February 2027. The facility will offer Pediatric Dentistry, Orthodontics and General Dentistry services, along with visiting specialists. The new $300million Mt. Edgecumbe Medical Center opened in Sitka, April2026 and in 2021 we opened the $30million Wrangell Medical Center, located in Wrangell. With plans to build a third critical‑access hospital in Haines. In addition to the dozens of established outpatient clinics and traveling clinics throughout the region.

Compensation

Guaranteed Hourly Rate: $235.00. SEARHC will pay for roundtrip airfare, lodging, and ground transportation.

Practice Details

Schedule: 1‑2 weeks/monthly blocks available. New, modern clinic facility: Featuring twelve closed operatories with plumbed nitrous oxide. There are plans to support each surgeon with two dental assistants in the near future. Patient Volume: 4‑6 patients per day. All clinic operatories have up-to-date A‑Dec equipment, 3‑d Imaging with Pano, digital radiography, and electronic health records. Including Dentrix Enterprise Software and Dexis Radiography.

Qualifications
  • DDS or DMD degree from CODA accredited dental school.
  • Graduate of a CODA accredited program in endodontics.
  • Dental Practice License in the State of Alaska or another US State.
  • Alaska license preferred.
  • BLS required.
Experience Required
  • Endodontic therapy on all appropriate permanent dentition.
  • Endodontic surgery.
  • Vital and non‑vital bleaching.
  • Treatment of root canal obstruction.
  • Internal root repair of perforation defects.
  • Retreatment of previous root canal therapy.
  • Apexification/recalcification therapy.
  • Canal preparation for dowel or post.

Key Essential Functions and Accountabilities of the Job
  • Provide endodontic assessments and direct endodontic care to all patients of the SEARHC Dental Program.
  • Develop and promote endodontic programs, protocols and systems for endodontic care that lead to best possible outcomes.
  • Act as advisor to the Dental Division Managers in all matters pertaining to endodontics.
  • Acknowledges all communications and submits required reports and chart documentation in a timely manner.
  • Performs additional duties assigned by the Dental Director.

  • DDS or DMD degree from CODA accredited dental school.
  • Graduate of a CODA accredited program in endodontics.
  • Dental Practice License in the State of Alaska or another US State.
