Job summary

Bayhealth Medical Center in Sussex County seeks a Nurse Practitioner to work in a collaborative, patient‑centered environment. The NP will perform complete physical exams, diagnose, and manage chronic and episodic care, in both hospital and physician practice settings.

The role requires a Master’s in Nursing with NP certification, BLS, ACLS, and at least two years of NP experience in a physician practice. Salary is competitive, with full-time hours on days at the Sussex Campus.

Qualifications

• Two years’ experience as a Nurse Practitioner in a physician practice setting.
• Preferred: three years NP experience in a specific area (e.g., Oncology).
• Master's degree in Nursing and NP certification required.

Responsibilities

• Examine patients, determine illness, and prescribe treatments in collaboration with the care team.
• Develop care plans and document appropriate reports to physicians and family.
• Provide in- and out-patient care including perioperative services as applicable.
• Order and review labs and diagnostics, document data, and prescribe per regulations.
• Maintain patient records in the EHR and ensure quality data entry.
• Deliver direct clinical care per protocols and evidence-based standards.
• Participate in education, research, and regulatory compliance activities.
• Educate patients about diagnosis, treatments, and preventive care.
• Maintain confidentiality of medical records and ensure continuity of care.
• Support accreditation and regulatory activities.
• Provide coverage for patients in ambulatory and hospital settings as agreed.
• Perform other duties within scope as assigned.
