Job summary

Covenant HealthCare is seeking a Scribe/Provider Facilitator to assist providers with documentation of patient encounters and support for medical records within the ECC department. The role includes setting up for procedures, obtaining items for providers, and ensuring accurate charting for reimbursement.

The position emphasizes excellent customer service, confidentiality, and ongoing training to maintain professional competency in a fast-paced healthcare setting.

Qualifications

• High school diploma required.
• Scribe, medical terminology or EMR training program or prior Medical Scribe experience preferred.
• Familiar with medical terminology and basic anatomy preferred.

Responsibilities

• Follows the provider into patient rooms to document encounters including histories, exams, assessments, plans and procedures.
• Updates patient chart with changes to past medical, surgical or social history as directed.
• Looks up information, x-rays and other studies from the chart for provider review and sign-off.
• Monitors lab and imaging studies to ensure timely return and inform provider of delays.
• Documents lab, imaging, and diagnostic results as directed by providers.
• Completes discharge instructions and prescriptions as directed by the provider.
