Job summary

Premier Orthopaedics, in partnership with Philadelphia Hand to Shoulder, seeks a dedicated Medical Assistant/Scribe to support providers across Havertown and Chadds Ford. You will room patients, chart vitals, and handle scribe duties while maintaining EMR data and ensuring a smooth patient flow.

You will assist with wound care, casts, and prescriptions, uphold HIPAA, and contribute to a positive patient experience across locations.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Graduation from an accredited Medical Assistant training program preferred.
• BLS certification preferred.
• 1–2 years of experience in a medical/healthcare setting preferred.
• Experience with EMR, insurance verification, and managed care operations preferred.
• Experience in fast-paced clinical environments with multiple priorities.

Responsibilities

• Assist providers with patient care and coordinate care across locations.
• Room patients, obtain vitals, review intake paperwork, and enter data into EMR.
• Scribe duties: document physician interactions and complete post-visit paperwork.
• Assist with cast, wound care, sutures, and staples removal.
• Maintain clean exam rooms and restock at day end.
• Handle prescriptions and patient forms (work release, disability, FMLA).
• Respond to voicemails within 24 business hours and document actions in EMR.
• Prepare electronic charts and verify test results prior to visits.
• Perform laboratory tests as needed.
• Maintain medical supply inventory and equipment maintenance.
