Job summary

Florida Orthopaedic Institute is seeking a full-time Medical Assistant to join the patient care team. You will work directly with a provider to deliver efficient orthopedic care in a fast-paced clinic, assisting with exams, procedures, and patient education.

You will be responsible for room preparation, vital signs, EMR documentation, injections, and post-visit instructions. Collaboration with clinicians and staff is essential for smooth operations, including occasional coverage at nearby

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• BLS certification required within 90 days of hire; FOI provides training.
• Reliable transportation and local travel flexibility.
• Strong interpersonal, organizational, and time management skills.

Responsibilities

• Prepare exam rooms and stock for the day.
• Escort patients, take vital signs, and document in EMR.
• Assist with injections, dressing changes, and sutures.
• Support provider during exams and maintain patient comfort.
• Educate patients on post-visit instructions and follow-ups.
• Collaborate with staff to keep the clinic running smoothly.
• Float to nearby clinics as needed to cover staffing.
