Job summary

Luminis Health, Inc. in Odenton, MD is seeking an Orthopedic Medical Assistant to support physicians and PAs in an ambulatory setting.

You will room patients, educate, assist with minor procedures, apply casts/splints, and help with suture removal while delivering excellent patient service. This role requires a high school diploma or GED (preferred completion of an accredited training program), CPR certification, and knowledge of anatomy and medical terminology.

Qualifications

• The minimum education requirement is a high school diploma or GED; completion of an accredited training program is preferred.
• Customer service experience is preferred.
• Knowledge of anatomy, physiology and medical terminology is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist Orthopedic Physician/PA with fracture reduction, casts/splints, immobilizers; instruct patient in care.
• Obtain vital signs and document health history; triage and prepare patients for visits.
• Prepare equipment for minor procedures; remove sutures/staples; apply dressings.
• Maintain inventory of medical and office supplies and reorder as needed.
• Maintain professionalism and positive rapport with patients per iCare framework.
