Job summary

UPMC Department of Orthopaedic Surgery seeks a Casual Diagnostic Technologist in North Huntingdon. The role is a weekday, daylight position with varied hours and no evenings or weekends. Responsibilities include patient X-ray, rooming patients, and related clinical duties within a supportive team.

The candidate must be ARRT Registry eligible or certified, obtain radiography registration within specified timelines, and hold CPR/BLS certification. NY facility rules may apply if applicable.

Qualifications

• ARRT Registry eligible or equivalent verification required.
• Must obtain radiography registry within 6–12 months after hire in many cases.
• CPR/BLS required and training per AHA standards.
• If working in NY facility, license/permits as required by NY health dept.

Responsibilities

• Identify patients using two identifiers and follow universal protocol.
• Review orders and document history in the EHR.
• Administer PO/rectal contrast per physician orders.
• Ensure proper coding and RIS/ISITE archiving of exams.
• Perform diagnostic radiography following established protocols.
• Operate imaging equipment and document results.
• Communicate clearly with patients and coworkers to support care.
