These recognitions highlight LVHN's commitment to teamwork, compassion, and technology with an unrelenting focus on delivering the best health care possible every day.Whether you're considering your next career move or your first, you should consider Lehigh Valley Health Network.SummaryManages orthotic patient care as approved by the American Board for Certification and consistent with the Pennsylvania Practice Act including patient assessment, formulation of a treatment plan, implementation of the treatment plan, follow-up, and practice management of certain orthoses as specified in ABC's Scope of Practice.Job DutiesPerforms a comprehensive assessment of the patient including their functional baseline to understand the patient's orthotic needs, goals, and expectations.Analyzes and integrates information from patient assessment to create a comprehensive orthotic treatment plan to meet the needs, goals, and expectations of the patient.Performs/directs all procedures necessary, to provide comprehensive orthotic device fitting.Adheres to policies and procedures regarding human resources, physical environment, business and financial practices, reimbursement requirements, and organizational management.Maintains/orders inventory as delegated by management.Participates in personal professional development through continuing education, professional training, and when appropriate, research and volunteering for professional organizations.Provides continuing patient care through periodic evaluation to ensure, maintain, and document optimal fit and function of the orthosis.Assists with Patient Intake and insurance related EMR workflow.Minimum QualificationsHigh School Diploma/GEDProven history of ability to multi-task and work in a fast paced environment; excellent critical thinking skills, ability to work independently, and manage time effectively.Demonstrated problem solving and work flow management skills.Must be energetic, quality driven and demonstrate the ability to be productive member of a cohesive team of peers dedicated to providing optimum patient care.Maintains a professional attitude towards patients and an excellent and collegial working relationship with other clinic personnelExcellent organization, communication (both written and verbal), and interpersonal skills.Able to handle sensitive and confidential information appropriately and represent the clinic in a mature, professional manner at all times.Preferred QualificationsGraduate of an ABC approved education program and at least board eligible for certification as an Orthotic Fitter.1 year experience in a related allied health profession (e.g. Medical Assistant, Physical Therapist Assistant PTA, Occupational Therapist OTA, etc.).Knowledge and understanding of Musculoskeletal system and medical terminology.Physical DemandsLift and carry 40-50 lbs. Examples: Push/pull patients on bed, stretcher (requires 29 lbs. push force), lateral transfers up to 50 lbs. of the patient's weight. Frequent to continuous standing/walking.
