Job summary

Lehigh Valley Health Network is seeking an Office Coordinator for our physician practice at Lehigh Valley Hospital-17th Street. This role coordinates administrative duties, supports scheduling staff, and ensures accurate patient access workflows including referrals and registration.

The successful candidate will have a high school diploma or GED, 3 years of physician office experience, and strong organizational and communication skills with proficiency in EMR workflows.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of a High School Diploma or GED required.
  • Preferred Associate’s Degree in Business Administration.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinates daily staffing for physician practice operations and supports front-line scheduling colleagues.
  • Oversees patient access workflows including referrals and registration processes.
  • Educates staff on registration, scheduling, billing, and insurance workflows per standardized processes.
  • Acts as main practice resource for EMR scheduling, referrals, and appointment functions.
  • Supports service recovery efforts and patient communication.
  • Assists with care delivery team initiatives and quality metrics.

Provides education and support to clerical staff. Functions as the primary practice resource for insurance information, clerical standard work, EMR scheduling, referrals, and other appointment functions.Job DutiesOversees patient access workflows including the internal and external referrals for new and established patients based on the patient's medical plan, insurance requirements, patient preference, and practice schedule.Coordinates daily staffing to meet procedure/customer needs and develops reports, and monitors staff productivity/efficiency and quality metrics.Ensures and educates staff on how accurate registration, scheduling, billing, clerical scanning, insurance, and referral functions are performed in a timely manner and according to standardized work processes.Functions as a team member to support practice and network goals and objectives.Troubleshoots, problem solves, and takes corrective measures in care and handling of equipment.
