Job summary

Boys Town National Research Hospital in Omaha, NE is seeking a Certified Medical Assistant for our Orthopedic clinic. Under supervision, you will provide basic nursing care, assist with casting and splinting, support examinations and treatments, and educate patients and families on care and follow-up.

This full-time role offers varied schedules: 8:30 AM–5:00 PM, Monday–Friday, or a split option with Monday 1:00 PM–5:00 PM and Tue–Fri 7:30 AM–5:00 PM, at Pacific Street.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Graduate from accredited medical assistant program.
• Current Medical Assistant Certification (AAMA/AMT).
• Nebraska Medication Aid Registry active or within first 30 days of employment.
• CPR (BLS) certification.
• Proficient with computers and EMR.

Responsibilities

• Provides direct care to patients and families in orthopedic clinic.
• Assists provider with procedures and delivery of patient care.
• Participates in quality improvement projects in the clinic environment.
• Attends staff meetings, continuing education, and mandatory in-services.
• Demonstrates initiative, accountability, and efficiency in time and materials.
• Promotes patient privacy, safety, and confidentiality.
• Manages clinic supply inventory and orders.
• Coordinates maintenance needs with supervisor.
• Willing to float to satellite clinics as needed.
• Educates patients and families on care and follow-up.
