Job summary

Nebraska Orthopaedic Center, PC in Lincoln, NE is seeking a Clinical Assistant to support physicians in examinations and patient care. Typical schedule is Monday–Friday, 8am–5pm, with responsibilities including preparing patients, assisting with procedures, triaging calls, and scheduling tests.

The role requires strong knowledge of patient charting, infection control, and HIPAA compliance, plus the ability to interact professionally with patients and staff.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of the organization's policies, regulations, and procedures to administer patient care.
• Knowledge of examination, diagnostic, and treatment room procedures.
• Knowledge of medical chart reporting/records.
• Skill in infection control, safe workplace practices, and confidentiality methods.
• Skill in health information management by appropriately charting patient data.
• Ability to interact with patients, families, physicians, staff, and others.
• Ability to respond flexibly to changing demands.

Responsibilities

• Room patients and prepare them for examination by physicians.
• Assist physicians with examinations, diagnostic procedures, and treatments.
• Triage patient questions regarding ailments, appointments, and tests.
• Schedule follow-up appointments, tests, and procedures.
• Complete patient disability forms and other paperwork.
• Maintain infection control and keep equipment, instruments, and supplies ready.
• Maintain patient confidentiality and HIPAA compliance.
• Assist with recording progress notes and orders.
• Observe and report patient condition and reactions to treatments.
• Prepare exam rooms and maintain an organized, clean workspace.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
