Job summary

Golden State Orthopedics & Spine is seeking a Medical Assistant to support our Fremont and Hayward clinics. You will maintain exam rooms, assist in procedures, handle pre-certifications, draw blood, and ensure accurate patient registration and scheduling. A CMA credential and 2 years of MA experience are required.

You will float between Fremont and Hayward locations to cover patient flow, with a focus on efficient, compassionate care and adherence to privacy policies.

Qualifications

• 2 years of Medical Assistant experience required.
• Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) credential required.
• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.

Responsibilities

• Maintain exam rooms and ensure they are ready for patients.
• Stock supplies and restock as needed.
• Disinfect equipment and instruments between patients.
• Handle pre-certification of medications and assist in procedures.
• Draw blood and collect specimens per protocol.
• Verify patient eligibility and insurance coverage.
• Schedule surgeries, hospital procedures, and pre/post‑op appointments.
• Register patients and collect data, co-pays, and deposits.
• Obtain necessary authorizations, interpreters, or transportation when required.
• Manage daily paperwork and privacy notices, with timely updates.
